Little Ambo gallery is delighted to welcome Grace Herrmann to the space for the month of July.

This installation is inspired by the secret lives and seemingly supernatural feats of our world’s organisms. Discovering the amazing abilities of our local biodiversity is a feeling akin to looking up into the night sky and recognising the limits of my understanding - a feeling which is not defeatist or intimidating but intensely joyful and curious.

Grace Herrmann is a contemporary artist based on the Sunshine Coast on Gubbi Gubbi/Kabi Kabi Country. Working primarily in paper carving, she creates intricate low-relief forms through a process of cutting and peeling layered paper board. Her work draws on natural systems, pattern, and Romantic ideas of the Sublime
