Discover the transformative power of art in Seven Degrees of Alchemy, an exhibition bringing together the work of seven artists whose diverse practices explore materiality, process, and transformation.

Inspired by the ancient concept of alchemy—the mystical and physical process of turning raw materials into something precious—the exhibition presents the studio as the ultimate alchemical laboratory. Each artist brings a unique perspective, energy, and methodology to this shared exploration of transformation through their chosen medium.

The exhibition features five painters and two potters, each engaging deeply with elemental materials:

  • The painters manipulate the tactile and luminous qualities of cold wax, molten encaustic, rich oils, and fluid acrylics. Through layering, scraping, and fusing mediums, they create works rich with light, depth, texture, and atmosphere.

  • The potters work with the elemental forces of earth and fire, transforming raw clay into enduring tactile forms that echo the textures, tones, and organic qualities found within the paintings.
