EVERY WOMAN BEAUTIFUL is presented in conjunction with the Woman of Story exhibition by Sunshine Coast artist Heather Lee Murphy. It is a series of acrylic paintings on canvas that celebrate the feminine form, in particular the torso. The models are real women, everyday woman, women that would not normally pose naked if their identity was known. These are brave women, many of whom have experienced greater self-love and self-acceptance as participants in this project. This is not an objectifying of the female body but a celebration of the female form, the differences and the similarities. The works seek to empower women of all ages, shapes, weight, skin color and medical history, regardless of society and the Medias concept of beauty. Every woman is beautiful and should be celebrated and respected as such.
Dates: 1-31 March, 2019

Heather Lee Murphy is a visual artist. She paints with acrylic paint on canvas and studied Fine Art Painting at the South Australian School of Art in Adelaide. She paints in her studio and works from photographs, drawings, collage and journals.
Her painting style leans toward realism but she also enjoys impressionism. She is interested in the fall of light and how contrast between dark and light creates the illusion of three dimensional form, tone informing the viewer what to think and colour, and what to feel!
Heather believes it is both a blessing and a privilege to be exhibiting in conjunction with the Woman of Story exhibition.
