Nambour Living Futures is an exhibition by QUT students studying for a Master of Architecture. These students have earlier participated in the Nambour Living Futures studio run by Jim Gall. This exhibition further follows on from the June 2017 exhibtion of the students’ work from Semester 1 2017.  Of keen local interest, Nambour Living Futures is supported by QUT and the Sunshine Coast Council. THRIVE Creative Health Forum

Creative interventions and inventive thinking are making a difference in healthcare.  Friday 6 and Saturday 7 April 2018 THRIVE is a two-day forum that will explore health care innovation and the potential for the Sunshine Coast to take a lead in this field. It will provide professional development opportunities as well as showcase innovative creative health and wellbeing practices, practitioners and projects. THRIVE’S program includes professional development workshops, panel presentations, leading national and local speakers, performances and exhibitions. There are also social gatherings to foster connections and collaborations.  THRIVE is for Arts Professionals; Health Professionals; Educators; Researchers; MedTech, Health and Wellbeing Entrepreneurs; and Government Representatives. Woopsy, From Denmark with Love – 22nd and 24th November

Woopsy is the story of a boy who is forced on a journey, all alone, coming to a new country where everything looks like something he knows, but where everything at the same time looks like something else, and where his life must be learned anew. A one-person performance, Woopsy is a monologue about some of the problems we suddenly face when life changes. Even though life can be difficult, it can end well when you have had a mother who is a belly dancer and a father who can swing dishes .. Torkild Lindebjerg from Teatertt (www.teatertt.dk) is a Danish director, writer, actor, and teacher who started his career in collaboration with the influential Odin Teatret in Denmark and has peformed and taught across Europe, South East Asia and Australia. These days he collaborates with Brian Joyce from the University of Newcastle and that brings him to Australia – and Queensland – and the Old Ambo! The Long Table Dinner 16th October will be a farewell to Jude Pippen after 3 years of dedicated voluntary service to the Old Ambo. She leaves to spend more time with family and to play the ukulele. With the Ukalelians she works in respite centres and nursing homes already and strums along with Sunshine Coast Ukulele Masters. ‘2018 is going to be all singing, all dancing’ she says… Bring a plate, a story and a song to share from 6pm.
